Blackwood Educational Land Institute is a nonprofit (for-purpose), 33- acre teaching farm in Waller County, Texas. Two acres of our land are cultivated, and the remainder is preserved in three distinct ecosystems: coastal prairie, post-oak savannah, and pine barrens.
This organization invites you to celebrate the bounties of our Gulf Coast communities with passionate change-makers who will inspire you to think in new ways about land and food. The first annual Blackwood Harvest Hoedown is a day-long immersive farm experience for to raise funds for Blackwood Educational Land Institute.
Tickets include festival admittance, food samples, musical performances and guest speakers, farm tours, and demos/discussions. Attendees will enjoy curated classes and demonstrations from our vendors ranging from fermentation and mixology to beekeeping. A small, simple farm-fresh tasting is included.
Local food, arts and crafts, dance-hall bands, and a line-up of speakers await the attendees. All proceeds will go to supporting Blackwood Educational Land Institute educational programs.
At Westmount at Copper Mill Apartments in Houston, Texas, we believe it’s important to integrate yourself into the community, which is why we suggest attending this event. Meeting new people, having unfamiliar experiences, and joining neighborhood activities is the key to an exceptional lifestyle.
